Hsin-Jo is a passionate and versatile Taiwanese musician, proficient as a pianist, violinist, and organist. She is currently pursuing a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) in Church Music, specializing in organ, at the Zürich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in Switzerland. Her academic journey is built on a strong foundation in performance, having completed both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree at ZHdK (Major in piano, Minor in Violin). Hsin-Jo has been fortunate to refine her skills under the mentorship of esteemed professors such as Till Fellner, Konstantin Scherbakov, Rahel Cunz, Ursula Koelner, Andreas Jost, Margrit Fluor.
Hsin-Jo’s musical journey began at a young age in a unique, non-traditional educational setting. Homeschooled from the age of six, she received a broad education that integrated core academic subjects with creative pursuits like ballet, Tai Chi, Chinese medicine, and, notably, music. Her musical education began at age five when she started piano lessons with her mother, later continuing under the guidance of Prof. Chun-Chieh Yen at Taiwan Normal University.
Encouraged by her parents to form a string quartet with her siblings, Hsin-Jo began violin studies at age eight and joined the orchestra at twelve. Performing at renowned venues such as the National Concert Hall and the Golden Hall of the Vienna Concert House further fueled her passion for stage performance, shaping her career as a musician.
Throughout her studies, Hsin-Jo has participated in numerous prestigious competitions, achieving significant recognition, including advancing to the qualification rounds of the 2015 Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, reaching the semifinals of the 2019 Piano Campus International Piano Competition, and earning second prize at the 2020 Ming Klassiker International Online Music Competition. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Hsin-Jo has gained extensive performance experience. She had the honor of being invited to perform at the "Klavierissimo" Piano Festival in Wetzikon, Switzerland for two consecutive years. She has also had the privilege of performing major works as a soloist with orchestras, including Chopin's Piano Concertos No. 1 and No. 2, and Beethoven's Violin Concerto.
Although Hsin-Jo has devoted much of her time and energy to the piano, she has consistently nurtured her passion for the violin throughout her academic career. Recently, she has broadened her focus to include the organ, further expanding her musical versatility. This continuous dedication to learning and growing has not only enhanced her abilities as a pianist but also strengthened her development as a well-rounded and versatile musician.
